Solutions Research Ltd are conducting a survey on behalf of Essex County Council to gather views of parents about youth vaping. We'd like to hear from parents/guardians of 9-14 year olds in Essex.

This survey aims to understand your attitudes to youth vaping, talking about it with your child, and what resources might be helpful to support this.

The findings will be summarised in a report which will be used by Essex County Council to inform services and materials to support parents, schools and young people around vaping. The report will be kept indefinitely and may be shared in the public domain on the Essex Open Data Platform (Essex Youth Vaping | Essex Open Data). Insight may be taken from the report and used for other relevant projects and shared with other partners.

This survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.

Participation is voluntary, and you can skip questions (by using the ‘prefer not to say’ option if you do not want to answer) or stop anytime.

We are also asking questions about you, the age of children in your household, your race or ethnic identity, gender identity, philosophical /religious belief and health. We are asking for this information to explore the similarities and differences in support that might be needed

What will happen with the information I share?
Your responses to this survey will only be accessible to the research team at Solutions Research Ltd and Potentia Insight. Personal data will be stored securely in line with General Data Protection Regulations. Any personal data you share with Solutions Research will be processed as part of the research and be used to inform the report for Essex County Council including participant quotes to support analysis.

All analysis and reporting will be fully anonymised, and we will not attribute any quotes or comments to specific individuals. All personal information and personal contact details will be deleted after six months after the end of the project (in December 2025).
